154th Tennessee Infantry Regiment : ウィキペディア英語版 | 154th Tennessee Infantry Regiment The 154th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry was an infantry regiment from Tennessee that served with the Confederate States Army in the American Civil War. Notable battles that it fought in include Shiloh and Chickamauga.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.civilwarreference.com/regiments/detail.php?regID=3860 )〕 The 154th Tennessee Regiment was a pre-war organization. Raised in 1842, it was first organized as a Tennessee Militia Regiment and was assigned the Tennessee number 154. It retained that designation when the old militia system was abandoned by Tennessee in 1859 and the regiment became a social organization by taking out a charter of incorporation on March 22, 1860. When war was declared little more than a year later, the 154th reorganized in Randolph, Shelby County and sought to retain its old number 154. As it was known as the "oldest of the old", it received permission to add the appellation "Senior" to its regimental number to indicate it predated regiments with lower numbers. The 154th (Senior) Tennessee Infantry served with distinction in the Army of Tennessee, taking part in the battles of Shiloh, Chickamauga, Resaca, Spring Hill and Nashville among others. The 154th surrendered at Greensboro, North Carolina, on May 2, 1865. 154th Senior Tennessee Infantry Company K inc was organized in the late 1970s in Northwest Indiana and Northern Illinois. One of the founding members and the first Captain was Nick Medich. Many members of the 154th today have been members from the earliest days of the company. The 154th is one of the premier reenacting groups in the Midwest. ==References==
